As part of the development of a regional supported housing strategy, the North West Regional Assembly and its partners are proposing to establish a North West Regional Service User Forum.

This will make sure that service users are actively engaged in supported housing service provision, both now and in the future.

The proposal has been moved forward following a successful service user involvement best practice event, held in February 2008. The need to understand the views of service users across all our vulnerable and diverse client groups, how to involve them and how their views can make a difference to our communities has also been recognised and led to this development.

The forum will aim to build on best practice taking place at local level, identify any barriers to service user involvement and seek out new areas for training, skills and development.
