What is it?
The Community Experts Panel has been running in Bolton for around four years now.
It is made up of current and former service users of any services that are funded by Supporting People, and includes members from schemes for young people, sheltered housing, hostels, people from mental health
services and other support services.
What’s involved?
The Community Experts Panel meets once every four to six weeks at events facilitated by the service user
advocates, box of frogs.
At the meetings they discuss a variety of issues related to the Supporting People team and the local services. This has included developing the new Service User Involvement Plan, developing a drama workshop to use with service providers around service user involvement, and feeding back their thoughts on the development of this website.
Members of the Community Experts Panel have also been involved with peer reviews in Bolton and a number of large scale conferences held in the region around the subject of service user involvement.
Everyone who attends the Community Experts Panel receives lunch and vouchers for local shops in recognition of their time and contributions.
